The Birthday Book - Page 32 by SalHunter The Birthday Book - Page 32 by SalHunter
(Foundations of Balance)

In 2009, I was given a little drawing book for my birthday ... it's a spiral bound sketch book with a pretty cover. Not something I would buy for myself ... but a welcome gift none the less. I decided to fill it with little sketches and drawings as a stream of consciousness.

This is page 32 ... HB, 2H and 2B pencil ... about 7 cms by 14 cms ... 7 days. These are getting really difficult and this one is late, (this was for December). Why is the holiday season so bad for drawing??? I have so much to catch up on alreadyand the year has only just started!

I love this; it's your usual distinctive style but the bottom right corner brings a wonderful unexpected quality to it. It's like the whole book overall has these random mutations that contribute to your evolution.

Also, the 'cliffs' in this look like they were fun to draw; I love doing that sort of texture. You pulled it off very well.

Thank you my friend! :-)

Yes the cliffs were great fun to draw, especially after the nightmare of the top part.

I wondered what happened. Unfortunately,I can't use the holiday excuse. I am using the "all I seem to do lately is work, eat, and sleep," excuse, tho'.
Better late then never. Very nicely done.:)

i see catacombs of living bones , flexible and strong , enough to bear the weight and weather of any season's temporal pressure .
i see the top as the inescapable vortex of an amorphous future full of possibilities ; and the bottom as worries of the past falling out of the picture and beyond the bounds of concern .

Happy New Year Sal ! :)
